يجمع كفيه ثم ينفث فيهما ويقرأ: «قل هو الله أحد»، و«قل أعوذ برب الفلق»، و«قل أعوذ برب الناس»، ثم يمسح بهما ما استطاع من جسده، يبدأ بهما على رأسه ووجهه وما أقبل من جسده، يفعل ذلك ثلاث مرات
Recite Surahs Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas into the cupped hands and wipe over the body
Recite the three protective surahs into the cupped hands, blow lightly into them, and wipe over the body — head, face, and front of body — three times.

كان النبي ﷺ يفعل ذلك كل ليلة، وعند مرضه فعلته عائشة رضي الله عنها به
Subhanallah (x33), Alhamdulillah (x33), Allahu Akbar (x34)
Glory be to Allah (33 times), All praise is for Allah (33 times), Allah is the Greatest (34 times).

علّمها النبي ﷺ ابنته فاطمة وعلياً رضي الله عنهما لما طلبت منه خادماً يُعينها في عمل البيت، فقال: «ألا أدلكما على ما هو خير لكما من خادم؟ إذا أويتما إلى فراشكما...»
Allahumma rabba as-samawati as-sabʿi wa rabba al-ard, wa rabba al-ʿarshi al-ʿazim...
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the Great Throne, our Lord and Lord of everything. Cleaver of the grain and the seed, Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Furqan. I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things whose forelock You hold. O Allah, You are the First, so there is nothing before You; the Last, so there is nothing after You; the Manifest, so there is nothing above You; the Hidden, so there is nothing closer than You. Settle our debt for us and enrich us from poverty.

كان النبي ﷺ يأمر أصحابه أن يقولوها إذا أخذوا مضاجعهم، فيها التوسل بأسماء الله العظيمة ودعاء بقضاء الدين والغنى من الفقر
Bismika rabbi wadaʿtu janbi, wa bika arfaʿuh, fa-in amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi ʿibadaka as-salihin
In Your name, my Lord, I lay myself down, and in Your name I rise. So if You take my soul, have mercy on it, and if You release it, protect it as You protect Your righteous servants.

من أدعية النوم المأثورة، فيها تفويض النفس إلى الله
Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilayk, wa fawwadtu amri ilayk, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilayk, wa aljaʾtu zahri ilayk, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilayk, la maljaʾa wa la manja minka illa ilayk, amantu bi-kitabika alladhi anzalt, wa bi-nabiyyika alladhi arsalt
O Allah, I have surrendered myself to You, entrusted my affair to You, turned my face toward You, and relied on You — out of hope and fear of You. There is no refuge nor escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.

ذكر شكر يذكّر بنعم الله الأساسية: الطعام والشراب والكفاية والمأوى
Aʿudhu bi-kalimati Allahi at-tammati min ghadabihi wa ʿiqabih, wa sharri ʿibadih, wa min hamazati ash-shayatin wa an yahdurun
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of devils and that they should come to me.
